Ticket Giveaway: Fireproof

As I said in my last post, Lisa and I are really excited about Fireproof, the movie. We’ve taken the hits in our own marriage and know how important it is to fireproof your marriage. We think this movie can do tremendous amounts of good to raise awareness for the problems happening within the home today. We plan to go see it this weekend and look forward to sharing our response to it with our readers.

As a result, we’re offering a pair of tickets to one lucky winner for this weekend’s showing of Fireproof in the theaters. If you’d like to enter your name in the hat and win two tickets for you and your spouse or even for a hurting couple you might know, leave a comment with your name and email address in the fields. (Do not leave your personal email in the comment section. We will delete them out to assure privacy.) We’ll enter all of the names into a hat and choose one out at random to decide who will win two tickets to see this weekend’s showing of Fireproof.

All names must be in by noon (EST) on Friday, September 26th. After selecting, we will contact the winner to arrange purchasing the tickets with your local theater. Be sure to leave a comment and watch your email on Friday so that we can make arrangements with you.

Update:  The deadline for this drawing has now passed.  Thanks to everyone who participated.  Check back very soon for the announcement of the winner.

  1. Thank you! Looking forward to the movie! 🙂

  2. This movie looks like it’s going to be really awesome. I’m so glad that a movie like this has hit the mainstream theaters – you don’t see that very often! Thanks for doing the giveaway – I think it will be really helpful in promoting the importance of this movie.

  3. Oh, Man!
Let me tell ya… it was three Christmas’ ago that my hubby and decided it was over. It was the hardest Christmas and New Years of our lives. We loved each other, but there was nothing there. The strangest part was that we cried and held on to one another during this time.
A friend talked us into going to a retreat and are we ever glad we did!
Yes, we are still together and completely in love, but everywhere around us we are seeing marriages crumble.
If we win these tickets, it’s for us! Because… just because…
Thanks for offering this giveaway! We really want to go, but the fianances just aren’t there right now.

  4. My husband and I went to see a screening of the film, and it profoundly impacted us. It’s a real marriage in real life with real struggles with real people. It’s such a great thing to see a film portray a marriage this way instead of insulting it or showing a fake relationship.

Have you seen the great resources for marriage from the movie? We got a copy of a Couple’s Kit at the screening; it’s a Bible-study with clips from the movie that couples can do (you can do it in a group too, but we do it at home together.) It’s really amazing and is making a real difference for us. I found it online at http://www.fireproofoutreach.com. I think it would make a great gift for any couple!

THANK YOU for your blog and your concentration on marriage. Hope this helps! PS: Don’t put my name in your drawing (thanks anyway!) I don’t want to prevent someone else from seeing it for the first time! 🙂

  5. WOW! This looks like a great movie. Thanks for the fun contest.

  6. Thank you both for all the work you put into this blog. Even though our marriage is not in trouble, it still requires work and maintenance. I appreciate your thoughts and the admonishment and encouragement to put the effort into being a Godly spouse.

I’d love to see the movie! Thanks for the holding the contest. 🙂

  7. My husband and I are definitely looking forward to seeing this one. We have been married just over a year and are loving our time together, but of course, we always need encouragment in our marriage 🙂

  8. I loved the clip that you posted and would love to see the movie. Thanks for letting us know about it. There need to be more movies like that made.

  9. Awesome idea! Put my name in the drawing. I’m so proud of the work that you guys are doing for married couples trying to serve God.

  10. I would like to be entered in the drawing. I saw the preview the other day and I am really excited to see it. I’m sure we’ll go whether I win or not!

  11. I enjoved the clip you posted and saw the preview the other day. Please put my name in the drawing although I’m sure I’ll see it whether I win or not. :o) Thanks again for this work that you are doing.

  12. Oooooh!!!! Pick me! Pick me!
(We all know it’s not REALLY random anyway). 🙂

  13. Hope we win….love you guys mucho

  14. Fred and I are looking forward to this movie. Also, we haven’t had a date night since he started teaching (his 1st year) about 5 weeks ago and has been working so hard! If we win, we’ll enjoy a nice evening out together 🙂

  15. What a great idea! This movie looks like it will do a lot of good. I can’t wait to watch it with my husband 🙂

  16. I would like to have my name put into the hat please. I’m excited about the way in which this movie can speak the gospel to people who don’t even go to a church and run from anything religious.
It’s clever how the authors/directors used the picture of a fireman to present the way in which we can not only survive the flames, but persevere through them to become even stronger as a result.

    Blessings to all, Ellen

  17. This movie looks wonderful! My husband actually said he would go see it with me! We went through a really rough time for several years and are still working on fixing things.

  18. Serena and I are game!
God bless your ministry here brother.

    Dan

  19. Thanks for doing this giveway! This looks like a great movie to help strengthen our marriage.

  20. I thank you for your website and openness to your lives. I have looked at your site several times and find it inspiring and helpful. I’m really looking forward to seeing this movie! I can’t remember the last time there was a movie I wanted to see with my husband.

  21. Greetings to you both. Thank you for offering to do this. What a great way to promote the movie, talk to couples trying/wanting to live a life that is pleasing to God, to get to know others, and to do a ramdom act of kindness. I would love to win the tickets for ourselves just because we don’t always get to go to the movies – part of the reason for that is that I am very selective and there just aren’t very many God-loving (Christian)-friendly movies around. I am leaving on a mission trip to the Holy Land and it would be something lovely and relaxing to do with my husband before leaving.

But mostly, I would like to win the tickets for some friends of mine. They are struggling in their marraige, trying fervently to overcome the demon of alcohol, which right now is giving way to the temptation of infidelity.

Whether selected or not, I would like to say to you and to everyone that I will keep marriages and the family in prayer while at the Holy Land. Please pray for me, as well. Thank you for what your doing, and keep on working for the Man with the plan.

  22. you guys are so awesome….give ea other a big ole hug from me & jerry…and then write our names down 50 times and put it in the drawing.

  23. Thank you for the contest! Please pick us!

  24. My husband and I have been seperated for two years-knowing that this is not the will of God we have been working on our marriage (the Bibilical way) and we are reuniting in the same home in October. I saw the trailer for the movie “Fireproof” and knew this is a must see for my husband and myself-We are going to see the movie this weekend anyway-but it would be such a blessing and a gift from God if He send us-
I would like to be entered into your drawing-God Bless!

  25. Thanks for all the hard work you two put in for the marriage. Too many people believe we should just give up when things get hard, but praise GOD you are there to help them through these tough times.

Wish we could do more to help guys!!

    Love ya!!
    Marty and Chris

  26. I would love to be blessed to see the movie with my husband.
