Men’s Retreat II: Stand Firm, Man of God

I’ve been praying for all of those men who attended the Rise Up, Man of God men’s retreats in October of 2009 and January of this year. I’ve prayed you all have begun overcoming the evil one through the power of Christ in you. I’ve prayed you’ve been more aware of his schemes in your own life than ever before and that you’ve taking the victories that Jesus offers you through His death and resurection. Through my discussions with many of you, I believe that to be the truth. I’ve been excited about the overwhelming responses to God’s work in your hearts and lives. Praise Him!

In the meantime, I know you’ve faced some incredible challenges. While you may be rising up in faith and defeating your Adversary, your old man of sin just keeps knocking on your door. The things you didn’t want to ever do again, you may have done, and the things you should have been doing, may not have ever been done. Why?

The answer: Awakening and rising up to fight the battle is just the beginning of God’s will for us as men of God.

“As God has said:

‘I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore come out from them and be separate’, says the Lord. ‘Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.’

Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.”

II Corinthians 6:16-7:1 NIV

He’s in you and giving you victory over the enemy, but what about the old man who just keeps coming back? Come out from the old way of living and find your place within Christ’s body, transformed. As God is Holy, so now are you. Live like it. Let the work that first began in you continue now. Don’t abandon the purpose for which he made and saved you. Live holy lives by standing firm and adding to your faith.

Let April 16th-18th, 2010, be a challenge for you to take your awakening in Christ further. “Add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

We’ll see you at Five Stones Camp.

  1. I will be praying for you guys that God will place a wall of protection around you and your hearts.

Remember, the flaming arrows of the evil one can only be stopped with the “FULL ARMOUR OF GOD” (Eph. 6)

  2. In the movie Ghost, Patrick Swayze (his ghost) is chasing the guy/villain that killed him. The villain gets hit by a car an dies. Then through special effects we see the demons coming to get this villain.
The opposite of this is what was experienced and seen in the October 2009 Rise Up retreat. No hollywood special effects here. As men made a decision to “rebuke satan and he will flee from you” I literally seen the demons flee. I am looking forward to and praying for “RISE UP II”! KB

  3. Psalm 20:4-8

May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.

Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand.

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.”

    Amen!

    • Love it, guys. I am really looking forward to this weekend with everyone.
