Talk With Your Spouse Tip #12

How many times have you said something you really regretted? Maybe a quick jab. How many times have you been on the receiving end of one of them? Hurts, huh?

Stupid things get said a lot faster and easier than any of us want to admit. All kinds of things come out in the midst of a heated discussion that can be harmful and shameful. But, we’re busy being ticked off…

A fool shows his annoyance at once
but a prudent man overlooks an insult.”

Proverbs 12:16

When was the last time you let a quick jab from your spouse slide? When was the last time you refrained from making an insult in response?

If you want to see your home rise, then stop with the foolish talk. Forgive your spouse and let it go. Use some discretion in conversation and say something encouraging. Only you can stop the insults and the abuse happening in homes across our country. What are you going to do about it?

“Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.”

Ephesians 4:29
